Welcome Back to School, Message from the Executive Head Teacher

I hope you have had an enjoyable and restful summer holiday. I would like to wish a warm welcome back to school this year for all students and staff, and especially those new to school.

We are all hoping for an exciting and enjoyable school term.

Unfortunately we have already had problems with transport and I have been in contact with the Local Authority about the issues we have had.

Please email Travel Assist travelassist@birmingham.gov.uk if you are experiencing problems and also contact Helen in the office h.taylor@wilsonstuart.co.uk and we will try to help on your behalf.

Hopefully transport will settle down soon and the situation will improve.

We look forward to seeing all parents on Wednesday 16th October for Parents’ evening.

Steve Hughes – Executive Head Teacher

The Children’s Play Village – Warwick

On Thursday 4th July, the Monkeys class had a very exciting trip to the Children’s Play Village in Warwick.

We were greeted by a very warm welcome from the staff who had set up tables for us to have our lunch. After lunch we got to explore one of the most exciting role play areas we had ever seen!

The clean open space, fabulous staff and inspiring play area with its fantastic attention to detail made this an extremely enjoyable day. There were 14 different play zones including a dentist’s surgery, fire station, vets, theatre, hairdressers and construction site just to name a few! We were interacting and taking part in a range of activities and using our imaginations to create our own role play scenarios.

The selection of resources available was extremely impressive with so many different things to see and experience. Certainly, a trip to remember!

Transition Team

On Monday 1st July the KS3 Transition Team met with Year 6 students for a “question and answer” session about life in the secondary department.

The students also had time to socialise as well as the Year 6’s completing a form about how they felt about starting their new class in September.

The Transition Team and primary students were a credit to the school and we are looking  forward to more events in the future!

Hedgehogs visit Twycross Zoo

Hedgehogs battled the rain this Tuesday on their visit to Twycross zoo. Luckily we were able to observe a lot of the animals form inside their enclosures, and we really loved the huge butterflies and the orang-utan. We had fun watching the gibbons and will try out some of their moves in the soft play room next week.

5.3 Visit Star City & Nandos

5.3 had a wonderful day out at Star City.

We went to see Aladdin, it was amazing. Will Smith as the Genie was funny and we were all having a dance in our seats to the music! All of 5.3 thought it was great.

After we went to Nandos and had lots of chicken and fries. It was nice to be out with each other and have a good chit chat with lovely food.

5.3 are really grateful to the staff for such a lovely day!
